Lasers, and why the month matters here.

Both of these get called a laser. Are they the same?
No, and the difference matters. The fractional ablative laser here is an Erbium YAG, and ablative resurfacing removes tissue and it has real downtime. IPL is light-based and works on tone and colour rather than texture. They are used for different problems. If someone quotes you the same recovery for both, they are not describing the same treatment.
Is hair removal one appointment or a project?
An area is a treatment. Full body is a year of your life and a real commitment, and I would rather you thought about it that way before booking. You get both numbers at the consultation, and the difference between them is a different kind of decision.
Why does the month matter?
Resurfacing asks you to stay out of the sun properly for weeks afterwards. Some people will. In Boca in August, plenty of people genuinely will not, and I would rather move you to October than watch it go badly. Hair removal and vein work are less season-dependent.

- Anyone who cannot commit to sun avoidance after resurfacing. This is the most common reason I move a laser appointment.
- Anyone with a recent tan in the treatment area.
- Anyone on isotretinoin recently, until we have talked about timing.
- Anyone with an event inside the recovery window.
- Anyone expecting IPL to do what resurfacing does, or the reverse.

Questions people actually ask
How many sessions for hair removal?
A course, spaced weeks apart, and the number depends on the area and on you. I will give you the range before you start.
Is downtime a bad thing?
Not in itself. Downtime is generally the tell for how much energy went in. A resurfacing treatment with no downtime at all did less than you were told.
Can I have IPL in the summer?
Generally, with sensible sun behaviour. Erbium is the one I move.
