Dermal filler, and what one syringe actually does.
Restylane, Versa and Evolysse. Filler is the treatment that needs the most conversation first, because it is the treatment people most often ask for when something else is the answer.

Why do different syringes cost different amounts?
Because they are different products, not different margins. They differ in how firm they are, how much they hold their shape against the tissue around them, and how they behave when the face moves. A soft product in a place that needs support does not last. A firm product in a place that needs softness looks wrong when you smile. The price follows the product.
How much do I need?
Less than the internet says, generally, and I would rather start conservatively and add at a second appointment than take something away. Adding is easy. Removing is a treatment with its own swelling and its own recovery.
How long does it last?
Generally somewhere between six and eighteen months depending on the product and the area. Areas that move a lot metabolise it faster. It fades rather than stopping.
What about swelling?
Expect it, particularly around a mouth. The first few days are not the result. Two weeks is the earliest anything should be judged, and I will not book a correction before then.
What is on the shelf. When I would say wait, or no
Every line below is a reason I would ask you to come back later or send you somewhere else. Worth reading before you book.
- Anyone whose concern is volume in the wrong place rather than volume missing. More product would make that heavier, not lighter.
- Anyone inside about four weeks of an event.
- Anyone with an active skin infection in the area.
- Anyone who wants a result I do not think filler can produce. If the honest answer is a surgeon, I will write down a name.
- Anyone who is at day three or day five after someone else's appointment and is looking at swelling rather than at a result.
“Jaime has been my favorite and most accurate injector since I found her almost a decade ago! She has magic hands and a perfect sense of how to give me my best look! Look no more for perfection ! Jaime is it! Full stop!!”
Questions people actually ask
Can you dissolve filler somebody else put in?
Yes, and it is a common appointment. I stage it rather than doing all of it at once. See the dissolving filler page for how that works and what I ask you to bring.
Does filler stretch the skin?
This gets argued about a lot and I would rather not overstate what is known. What I can tell you is what I do about it: I use less, I space appointments out, and I would rather you had fewer syringes over more years.
Will I look done?
That is the single most common sentence in this room. It is also why I turn work down. The way to not look done is to be treated by someone willing to stop early.
